Sneakers give off a youthful aesthetic when you wear them and I think fashionable adults tend to wear leather shoes. Once this is done, you’ll find you now have not only a new java file called Description.java, but also a new layout file called fragment_description.xml – just as though you had created a new class! This means that you’ll be placing the code that goes with your new fragment in its own separate java file. After first being teased by longtime Nike collaborator Hiroshi Fujiwara earlier in the month, the fragment design x Nike Dunk High “Tokyo” now has official images and a solid release date. Also known as “Midnight Navy,” this two-tone Dunk is an expansion of fragment design and Nike Sportswear‘s 2010 Dunk High “City Pack” collection, and bears some similarities to that pack’s “Beijing” colorway. A team of architects and builders, Breakform Design’s multifaceted approach informs clients, architects, and designers on the creative potential for their projects early on.

This watch gave Fujiwara a chance to delve into the world of luxury watchmaking, which resulted in a striking timepiece. Inside the 42mm stainless steel case and black dial with a distinctive white ring is the El Primero 400B caliber with a power reserve of 50 hours. Fujiwara’s modern twist and graphic style on quite an iconic watch made this redesign a memorable one. Unlike many big names in fashion today, Mr. Fujiwara takes a more muted approach to his public image. Much like his aesthetic, he prefers simple color blocking and duotones over the loud and flashy colors that brands like Supreme lean into. When a creative director is a mysterious man, the behind-the-scenes work is bound to be equally as intriguing and leaks all the more exciting.

Working from Los Angeles and Lake Tahoe, Breakform Design leads the architecture, fabrication, and construction of unique houses, multifamily/mixed-use development, and commercial buildings & interiors. In the midst of the revival of Y2K aesthetics, we’ve witnessed the resurgence of the Tamagotchi, a handheld digital pet game created by Bandai in 1996. In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the latter’s CLOT label, the duo has reworked one of Nike’s most coveted silhouettes to date—the Nike Dunk Low. They look like they could be made anywhere, but I think they have a unique finish. Dr. Martens is more street-like or youth-oriented, whereas Cole Haan feels more classic and traditional. I looked at a lot of different styles, but from the beginning I wanted to work with this silhouette, which later became the base model for this project.

This friendly competition was ultimately won by Virgil in his “Ten Icons Reconstructed” capsule, but Mr. Fujiwara’s take is also noteworthy as some of these models, like the Air Jordan 3 did see an actual release with a white upper instead. It grants fragment's collaborators access to Fujiwara's boundless well of cultural cache, making them seem "cool" by extension. Here again, fragment design provided the template to all influential streetwear labels that followed.

The penny loafer juxtaposes the formal, traditional dress shoe with the everyday casual lifestyle. In the present day era where sneakers are in abundance in the footwear market, it ushers in a new age of classic shoes. The current street style trend sees the frequent pairing of a relaxed look consisting of baggy trousers and perhaps an oversized sweater or blazer and t-shirt paired with a dressy loafer to keep it formal yet informal.
He then proceeded to become an evangelist for American Hip Hop in Japan and may have very well been a contributor to its popularisation in Japan. With that he started to DJ and Produce music, specializing in remixes and flipped LPs. Fragment first began collaborating with Nike in 2010, establishing a longstanding partnership with the footwear giant that continues today. In 2020, fragment also collaborated with HYPEBEAST for a collection of everyday essentials. Finally, you may find yourself wanting to change the look of your fragments depending on where they are located.
The good news is that you can do this easily by passing an ID as a bundle when you create the fragment and then extracting that value at the other end. The success of the center’s crash course in DNA matching has doubled enrollment this year, filling the class’ 15 spots and creating a growing waitlist. One doesn’t necessarily need to have a degree in history or genetics to become a forensic genealogist. Yager’s family has declined to speak to the media, but Yavapai County officials said the family is grateful that this piece of his body is being finally reunited with his remains 70 years after he was buried in his hometown of Palmyra, Mo.
Known affectionately as the Godfather of the Street, Mr. Fujiwara has collaborated with an extensive number of brands such as Louis Vuitton, Nike, Rolex, TAG Heuer, the Pokemon Company, Medicom Toy, and many many more. His influence is far-reaching, but you may be surprised to learn that he had his humble beggings as a teenager out of Ise, Mie in Japan. All these other brands that've followed down the trail that Fujiwara blazed, their worth is dependent upon a product line or aesthetic presentation that's subject to whim, timing, trend. In addition to his contributions to Nike’s “HTM” line, his fragment design (FRGMT) imprint has been widely acclaimed as a prominent figure in the world of streetwear collaborations.

Over the course of his more than 40-year career, Fujiwara has drawn influence from global culture, stemming from his travels in the 1980s where he bore witness to the energetic punk scene in London and the rise of hip-hop in New York. He was heavily involved in Japan’s Western music scene, becoming one of the country’s first freelance DJ’s. He also hosted a column on fashion and culture trends called Last Orgy, steadily becoming a mainstay in Japan’s import of Western style.
With sneakers, Fujiwara’s sense of ‘less is more’ is evident, as well as his love for vintage elements. The latest pair that fans are clamouring to get their hands on are the Fragment Design x Nike Air Jordan 3, another minimal retro-inspired pair. As for the American Classics Tassel Loafer, it arrives in the dual black and white tone as well. Each of the shoes feature a debossed lightning bolt on the lateral rear quarter, a nod to fragment design and Hiroshi Fujiwara’s signature moniker. The “Tokyo” supplies a subtle-yet-striking color scheme, mixing rich navy shades on the toebox, quarter and collar with black mudguards, eyestays, Swooshes, collar flaps, heels and heel tabs.
Guests will receive amenity sets, a plush toy, and exclusive opportunities to purchase goods during their stay. Each pair is priced at $220 USD and will be available online at Cole Haan starting on March 8 in Japan, South Korea, and Indonesia. I mix multiple elements to create a new form, so there is continuity in my products. On his 18th Birthday, Mr. Fujiwara traveled to Tokyo and started his Fashion career in the streets of Harajuku. He also partook in traveling the world and on a particular trip to New York in the early 80s, he discovered American Hip Hop and took a liking to it.
Fujiwara recently teamed up with Travis Scott to launch a surprise merch collection late last month, alongside a highly-anticipated Travis Scott x fragment design x Air Jordan 1 Low, set to release this weekend. The Japanese designer has also lent his signature touch to other noteworthy collaborations with brands like Pokemon, Maserati, Moncler, Levi’s, Beats by Dre, and Louis Vuitton, to name a few. Despite never having created its own products, fragment design‘s simplistic lightning bolt iconography is everywhere. Hiroshi Fujiwara, the mastermind behind fragment design, built up an impressive list of collaborations across industries, owing to the brand’s massive success. Perhaps the most standout feature is the black and grey Nato strap, which lends the limited edition timepiece a distinctly rugged and streetwear feel. Normally, a Nato strap for a Bulgari watch would be unheard of but for this piece, it makes perfect sense.
The partnership with Louis Vuitton’s creative director Kim Jones for a capsule collection marks Fujiwara’s first foray into the world of luxury fashion. Debuted in April, 2017 in Tokyo, the famous collaboration was available in pop-up stores in Tokyo and Singapore, where special items were featured exclusively at specific locations. The collection boasted a range of practical and unconventional items, from a monogramed guitar case and custom plush bear to a full Autumn/Winter men’s pre-collection. It was more like working with Cole Haan or Nike, which was the parent company of Cole Haan at the time of my first collaboration.
